All the Sabatti barrels can guarantee Sub-MOA accuracy at any shooting distance, usually with an average performance level of ½ MOA @ 100 meters.

The Sabatti MRR multi-radial rifled barrels can reach up to ¼ MOA accuracy, or better.

The ideal combinations of caliber, rifling pitch and type of ammunition used are quite variable and will change depending from the firearm, the barrel length and diameter.

Sabatti’s rifled barrels are tested in-house for accuracy using Fiocchi Exact and Perfecta ammunition, which invariably return very satisfactory results – even above average, when dealing with MRR barrels.

But given the variability of individual requirements for hunting or sport shooting, we always recommend that our customers to test out several types of ammunition to identify the loads that will best suit their needs in terms of the intended use and shooting distance.

For reloaders, we make MRR monolithic bullets available in hunting, sport shooting and long-range shooting configurations. Specifically engineered to be used with the Sabatti MRR multi-radial rifled barrels, they will also guarantee excellent performance with standard riflings.

Not necessarily. The accuracy of Sabatti MRR barrels are tested in-house using Fiocchi Perfecta 168gr and 175gr factory ammunition, which often return performance levels exceeding ¼ MOA – more than perfect for shooting competitions.

The twist rate on Sabatti barrels will vary depending on the caliber, and it’s indicated in the technical specifics table of each firearm, in the caliber field.

On the Sabatti website, the torque setting values for bolt-action rifles are indicated on the product page of each rifle.

If shooting at targets within 100-200 meters with bolt-action hunting rifles, the level of torque settings of the bedding screws is not a critical factor.

When doing precision shooting with bolt-action rifles instead, especially at long range, the torque settings of the screws connecting the action to the stock becomes important, and the screws should always be tightened in the same way, every time the rifle is reassemled, for example after an in-depth maintenance session.

The torque settings values of the actions are those suggested by Sabatti, yet no rifle is never totally identical to another one.

We therefore suggest you to test your rifle by varying the torque setting strenght of the action's front screw in respect to the rear one (with +/- 0,5 Nm steps), by using a torque wrench, identifying the ideal combination allowing your rifle to shoot in the most accurate way.

Our .30-caliber barrels are extremely flexible and will work flawlessly with bullets ranging between 125 and 200 grains in weight.

When shooting at targets within 50 to 300 meters in distance, 165 gr bullets are by far the best choice.

When shooting at targets over 300 meters and within 600 meters, we recommend the use of 180 grain bullets – but using the Sabatti MRR multi-radial rifled barrels would be preferable to attain the best level of accuracy at those ranges.

All of Sabatti MRR multi-radial rifling twist rates guarantee a superb level of accuracy, but barrel diameter plays a crucial role when it comes to consistent, repeatably accurate shots within a group.

If a rifle is to be used to fire more than four to five highly-accurate rounds in quick repetition on a target located over 200 to 300 meters from the shooter, we suggest that you choose a larger diameter barrel to better withstand overheating and metal dilation – both of which have a negative impact on accuracy.

A proper choice of ammunition will of course also play a crucial role in long-range shooting when engaging targets over 300 meters in range.

All our standard accuracy tests on Sabatti MRR multi-radial rifled barrels are carried on in-house with Fiocchi Exacta and Fiocchi Perfecta ammunition. However, all through the years, Sabatti MRR barrels have proved themselves capable of excellent performance even with other commercial ammunition brands, particularly with heavier bullet weights.

For reloaders, Sabatti offers the MRR line of monolithic bullets available in hunting, sport shooting and long-range shooting configurations. Specifically engineered to be used with the Sabatti MRR multi-radial rifled barrels, they will also guarantee excellent performance with standard riflings.

When engaging targets within 200 meters of distance, the Sabatti barrels quality ensures sub-MOA accuracy with all calibers, and comparable groups with all of the main commercial ammunition brands.

But the best choice in caliber – and ammunition – does make a difference in long-range precision shooting from 300 meters up.

Even a heavy 77-grain ball .223 Remington can return excellent results within a 600 meters range in no wind conditions, but ,308 Winchester and 6.5x47 Lapua are still the most popular choices.

In long-range precision shooting on targets between 600 and 1000 meters, a flat trajectory and a heavy bullet are crucial: in such cases, rounds such as 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Winchester (7.62x51mm) with heavy loads are to be considered the “minimum optimal” choice.

Above 1000 meters, that’s .338 Lapua Magnum kingdom – with very different shooting logics and involved costs.

Sabatti Carbon fiber coated barrels are not more accurate than standard barrels in an absolute sense of the word. Carbon-wrapping is used to make relatively thin barrels more rigid while keeping the overall weight of a firearm to a minimum; that’s why they’re used on mountain hunting rifles and the likes, for those uses where a shooter may need to carry a gun on his or her back for multiple hours in an uneven terrain – a challenging ordeal indeed.

Depending from the caliber, the accuracy of a thin barrel can drop significantly even after three consecutive, fast shots due to overheating. A carbon wrapping allows thin barrels to offer performance levels more akin to those of thicker barrels, while keeping the overall weight of the firearm within acceptable levels.

No. Like any other action from any other firearm, the Sabatti actions can be installed only on specific riflestocks. Currently no Sabatti action can be readily installed on any commercial riflestock, and their installation always requires the intervention of an expert. When ordering a new firearm, some aspects concerning this matter can be requested in advance to the Sabatti Custom Shop.

No. Timney Triggers aren’t compatible with Sabatti rifles. However, Sabatti factory stocks offer performance levels that come very close to those of Timney’s.

As of today no McMillan stock is available that’s readily compatible with Sabatti firearms. The intervention of an expert is necessary to install a McMillan stock on a Sabatti rifle.

We cannot provide reliable availability or time delivery evaluations in countries other than Italy, as all decisions are managed by local distributors, in accordance with local gun shops.

If a rifle is in stock at the National distributor warehouse, an order from a local gun shop could be delivered in terms of 7 to 10 working days.

But if the desired rifle is not in stock at the National distributor warehouse, the minimum waiting time requested to process a standard model order between the gun shop, the distributor and the main Sabatti manufacturing plant in Italy will be not less than 6 months.

Yes, that’s possible, but as with all aftermarket accessories, we suggest that you check compatibility first.

Running-in with MRR barrels is way less necessary than it is with a traditional barreled rifle.

We however recommend that even an MRR barrel is cleaned frequently for the first 200 shots.

Each rifle comes issued from factory with a guide on running-in procedures.

Running-in can even be carried on in a milder way, with good results.

Yes, all of our rifles are proof-tested in house and a huge portion of them undergoes an accuracy test with a proof group. This allows us to speedily intervene should any issue be found.

Yes. We have an in-house certification service, with very experienced shooters ready to test-proof your rifle at a 300 meters range. The customer will then receive the test group target, certified by the shooter and a range master.

The service is available at a cost and must be requested when placing your order. 

The certification can be requested at any subsequent moment in the life of the rifle, but obviously, the rifle will need to be sent back in to the company, with all costs that such an operation will require.

Machining marks within a barrel or a chamber are normally found in any firearm.

A borescope will enhance those marks and make stand out upon observation, but the simple existence of machining marks doesn’t imply that your barrel has a problem or that your firearm can’t shoot accurately.

The identification of an issue through the observation of a barrel is a complex process that requires a lot of experience and is normally carried on only once a firearm has been well-ascertained as having objective issues in grouping (which in and by itself also requires a careful evaluation of other factors, last but not least the type of ammunition used).

Unless the mentioned components have been in contact with aggressive chemicals (eg. if they were cleaned with inappropriate products), there are well documented cases in which human sweat itself has been shown to be particularly damaging to the finish of firearms, sometimes even capable of causing significant oxidation on metal surfaces.

If it can be ascertained that the damage is not due to any of the mentioned improper causes, the Sabatti company will re-treat or replace the damaged components at no cost for the shooter.

The only optional services that Sabatti can provide also to foreign customers, for an additional fee when accepting an order for a firearm include:

• Certified accuracy test at 150 meters, for hunting rifles
• Certified accuracy test at 300 meters, for long-range rifles
• Certified accuracy test at 35 meters, for shotguns (one group per each barrel)

Normally it’s not possible to order firearms with features that differ from those indicated in the Sabatti catalog at any given time.

However, any specific request can be addressed to the Sabatti Custom Shop for evaluation and any possible indication.

Yes. Sabatti threaded barrels all come with a standard muzzle thread pitch. Depending on the firearm type, barrel muzzles are threaded as follows:

• 1/2”- 20 UNEF
• 1/2”- 28 UNEF
• 5/8”- 24 UNEF
• M14x1
• M15x1

Yes, they are, but their installation requires experience and specialized capabilities, particularly when it comes to safety adjustment.

We suggest that all our trigger groups that come with a Stecher (double set trigger), specifically manufactured for our hunting guns, be installed by a competent gunsmith only.

You may do it on your own, as long as you have the proper know-how and tools and following the specific instruction found in the user manual for your firearm.

Most of our over-and-under shotguns come with interchangeable chokes, but not all of them.

Remember to verify specifically your model before placing an order.

The correct alignment of the barrels is one of the most delicate points in the manufacturing of a double rifle.

Each and every Sabatti double rifle comes with:

• A test target (group shot at 50 meters)
• Type of ammunition used during the test
• Tester’s signature

The use of ammunition other than those used during the test may yield very different results.

To initiate the return of your new Sabatti firearm to factory for maintenance, you should address to the gun shop where the firearm was first purchased. The gun shop will then evaluate the problem with the Sabatti distributor in your country, who will take all the necessary decisions.

Nota bene:

• The customer will be charged for the shipment of the firearm back to the distributor, or even to the factory (if necessary)
• Shipment costs for the return of the firearm to the owner will be paid for by Sabatti, if the firearm is covered by warranty

Once the nature of the issue is define, the gun shop owner will contact by E-Mail our technical assistance department at support@sabatti.it. We suggest that the gun shop owner send a copy of the E-Mail to the gun owner and the Sabatti distributor, so that all parts are kept up to date with the communications and the request of technical assistance under warranty.

As soon as the request is verified, our technical assistance department will contact your gun shop to define the terms and procedure for the return of the defective firearm to our factory for assistance – regardless of whether or not it’s covered by warranty.

Should the owner decide to bring his gun directly to us in person, he/she shall first ask for an appointment by sending an E-Mail at assistenza@sabatti.it. Once all the required information is received, our technical assistance department will confirm the appointment date to the owner.

Once we receive the firearm, the processing time for the resolution of any issue and return to the owner may vary depending from the nature of the issue itself: the average waiting period for countries other than Italy may vary from a minimum of 3 months for minor issues to a maximum of six months for more complex technical interventions.
